How to Apply
Applying is easy. Just follow the steps below—we’ll guide you through the process along the way.
- Submit a questionnaire.
- Pay the $55 application fee.
- Application review. We’ll review your application and typically respond within a few business days, though it may take up to 1–2 weeks during busier periods.
- Schedule a visit. We’ll invite you and your child to visit Kinderhaus so you can experience our community firsthand.
- Complete your enrollment forms. If offered a space, we’ll send you the enrollment paperwork to complete and return.
- Secure your child’s spot. Submit your first month’s tuition and a deposit equal to one month’s tuition to confirm enrollment.
Important Dates
Kinderhaus accepts applications throughout the year. Completed applications submitted by March 1st will be considered for admission for the fall of that year. Applications submitted thereafter, or students who are not initially accepted into the program, can be placed on a waiting list for openings that may occur throughout the school year, or for admission during the following school year. To the extent that there are openings during the current school year, Kinderhaus will review the current wait list of eligible students to fill the space.
Children must be at least 2 years 9 months old to be eligible for enrollment. If you are interested in joining Kinderhaus now, fill out an application below.
- Application forms for new and returning families are due March 1st to be considered for admission that fall.
- Contracts for siblings, returning students and/or children of alumni are sent out in March.
- Contracts for new families are sent out in March and April.
- Deadlines for returning a signed contract and deposit are two weeks from the date the contract is sent.
Admission Criteria
Kinderhaus admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, fee and parent participation programs.
Please be aware that due to our small program, we have very limited spaces available each year. The selection of new students is at the school’s discretion. Preference is given to returning families and alumni. Students must be at least 2 years 9 months (2.9 years old) to be enrolled in the program. In order to sustain our German language immersion program, Kinderhaus makes every effort to provide a balanced classroom based on gender, age, familiarity with the German language, general fit and desired schedule. Position on the wait list is considered, but does not guarantee a space.
We require all children to comply with the California immunization requirements.
